Who’s Side is it Anyway?!

Last night in bed, my husband Steve and I had a very heated debate. It was hot and I was restless. I tried to stretch out a little more but his leg was on “my side”. I asked him to move across to his side and he grumbled. I was quite clear – we each were entitled to half of the bed and his leg was in my half and needed to be moved back to his side.

There was disagreement from the husband on this one. As he is the larger party he feels that he should be entitled to the relative bed space. Steve feels that he should be entitled to more than half of the bed as he is bigger. I am in strong disagreement. I want my half.

We have not yet come to agreement. What is even more extraordinary is that next week we will have been together for 17 years. 17 years after we first got together and we find ourselves debating who should have what bed space! How on earth has this debate taken 17 years to get to?!

I of course am sure that I am correct and fair in offering him only “his” half of the (King size!) marital bed. After all – it has been enough up to now 🙂

I think he should have more space as he is the “larger person” 🙂

  2. Could be worse you could also be sharing with the dogs, so you may only end up with a quarter 😉

  3. Kate says:

I think he should be pleased you allow him to share the bed in the first place so he ought to be grateful for whatever amount you deem to be his !!!

You are lucky to be allowed in, it is “King Sized” after all.
