Sydney Sightseeing

Well, we managed to see and do just about everything that we wanted to despite only having two weeks to do so!! Aside from enjoying lots of beach time, we did plenty of sightseeing also! The ferry ride from Manly to Sydney was so pretty and took us right past the Opera house and in front of Sydney Harbour bridge.

We visited the Sea life Aquarium in Manly which had some super sharks! We spent a day riding the open top bus tour around Sydney and Bondi which was a really good way to see the main sights in a short space of time. We spent a day shopping in Sydney and also around various parts of Sydney visiting attractions. We were amazed at the size of the cruise ships that dock at Circular Quay – they made our ferry look like a dingy! We took the trip up to the top of Sydney Eye Tower to enjoy the views. Sadly it was on one of the only two rainy days so the view was limited. Fortunately, you are able to buy cleverly edited pictures that depict you up at the top on a lovely sunny day, at night and also with a giant Koala Bear!! We visited darling Harbour (in the rain!) and spent a great few hours at the Sydney Wildlife Park. We paid extra for the Koala experience and were able to meet the koala’s face to face and touch them.

We also celebrated my sisters Birthday whilst we were there which was lovely. We all got dressed up and had a really nice meal in Manly on the sea front. We enjoyed an evening bowling, visited the mall a few times and had several nice meals in the sunshine.

Somehow, between the beaches and the sightseeing we also spent four days on The Gold Coast over the long Easter Weekend. I think that I had best save that for my next blog post!! 🙂
